5.7GHz Transverter construction project

Dick Giles, G4LBH is a keen microwave constructor, over Christmas 2006 he started a project to construct a DB6NT 5.7GHz transverter. Here are the first pictures of the construction

This is Dick's third construction project with SMD parts, he is well set up with a good soldering iron and a magnifier

Construction underway

The DB6NT kits are very well presented, all of the components are supplied in a handy container so that they can be checked off and used easily.

This is a very artistic picture of the construction but it does show how esential the desk magnifier is for such a project.

Dick at work

Dick ensures that he has a clear workspace for this project. One false move and an SMD component could be lost forever in the normal shack environment. Having a clear workspace means that lost components should be easy to find.
